More than a century ago, the residence was cut in half and moved by mules to its present location. Within the last decade, it has been restored to perfection, retaining its quintessential Key West charm and emphasizing its seamless adaptation to contemporary island living.

If you're coming to Key West for the beaches, you'll love that Azure Daydream is located just a few blocks from Higgs Beach on the Atlantic. If you've come to Key West for festivities, you'll love that Azure Daydream is within walking or biking distance of the world's most famous movable party on Duval Street.

Azure Daydream, named for the color of the Key West sky on a clear blue day, makes a formidable impression behind a wrought iron fence, gate, and tons of mature green foliage. The first thing you notice is that it's an impressive two-story with a sweeping front porch and second-floor balcony porch above. Both spots are ideal for sitting to observe island life as it passes by on White Street. People biking. People walking dogs. People headed beachward with towels and chairs.

Inside the front door, look left to see the first bath and bedroom, go up the sweeping staircase to the second-floor bedrooms, or head down the hall to the kitchen, dining, living room, and French doors to the private back garden and pool, and designated parking. Floors throughout the residence are of gleaming hardwood, walls are the sought-after Dade County Pine beautifully accented with a light whitewash, and copious windows guarantee daytimes illuminated with Key West's soft sunlight.

Preceding the first-floor bedroom is a full bath appointed with stunning turquoise quartz countertops and glass tiled walls. The bedroom itself has two comfy twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king bed. It also has two standing dressers, a ceiling fan, a TV, bedside tables with lamps, etc. There's even a desk and office chair for a computer and writing space. It's everything a bedroom should be and offers plenty of ambient light from four windows with pull-down shades for privacy after sunset.

The hallway features windows and brightly colored, large-scale art photographs printed on metal for added impact. It also contains a washer/dryer closet, a storage closet, and leads into the great room. The first thing that strikes you here is a plethora of ambient light, no matter what direction you look. The entire area is flooded with sunlight during the day and moonlight at night. Or close the blinds for a cozy effect. The dining area seats eight comfortably below a classic, shaded chandelier. The dining table and chairs are solid wood, impressive, and ever so functional.

Conveniently located next to the dining area is a perfect chef's kitchen. The color scheme is white symbolizing a clean slate waiting for you to write on it with your culinary talents. Or you can simply warm leftovers from a meal out the night before at one of Key West's myriad great restaurants. High-end stainless appliances abound, including two dishwashers, a gas stove, a large stainless refrigerator, microwave, wine cooler, and another cooler for carbonated beverages such as beer and soda. Above the stove is a raised counter and bar chairs that create another eating area. Many cupboard doors line the walls above and below. Behind one is a pantry. Behind others, there's storage for all the kitchen accouterments you could want.

From the kitchen, the view through the living room's two walls of glass to the outside is spectacular. The living room itself centers on two couches, one ocean blue and one sand beige, arranged in an L shape to create an intimate and comfortable conversation area. Or sit here to watch the news or a movie on the flatscreen TV opposite. Below is a cabinet putting Wi-Fi and cable at your fingertips. And of course, there's central AC - one zone downtairs and another upstairs. One of the best parts about the living area is its close-up view of the outside oasis created by the wooden plank deck, deck furniture, gas BBQ grill, pool, and beautiful landscaping against a fenced privacy perimeter.

The plunge pool is temperature-controlled and adds a tropical touch as sunshine sparkles over its surface. You'll find it quite suitable for lounging, wading, and cooling off. The surrounding deck is curated to provide the best outside living Key West has to offer. There's the perfect alfresco area with a dining table and six chairs. To the left is a multifunctional social area with couch, chairs, tables, a couch swing, and a gas grill. Further to the left are two chaise loungers to stretch out on. Everything here is calculated for comfort and vacation delight.

As you look back at the house, you are reminded that it's two stories. Upstairs are three bedrooms-two king bedrooms, one queen bedroom, and two full baths. The delightful master bedroom is actually a suite of two rooms with cathedral ceilings, ensuite bath, sitting area with desk, copious windows, and more than enough storage space for your hanging and for your folded travel clothing and items. To add delight, the master bedroom offers a sweeping view of the pool and garden area below. The two guest bedrooms are inviting and, through unique design, share a full bath. Here again, the turquoise quartz countertops and glass tiled walls are the main bath design element. Also at this end of the hallway is the door to the balcony that runs the whole width of the house in concert with the first-floor front porch.

Azure Daydream is your perfect chill place, but there's plenty more of Key West to explore. In one direction the White Street corridor leads back twelve blocks to the historic seaport. Along the way are restaurants and art galleries. In the other direction is Higgs Beach, a delightful stretch of sand and ocean. At a curve in the beach sits Salute, a locals' favorite restaurant overlooking the beach where you can have an excellent lunch or dinner among writers, artists, and families. Or walk a bit further down to the Sun-Sun Beach Bar & Grill at Casa Marina. Close by, and still overlooking the Atlantic is Louie's Backyard, a Caribbean-American restaurant known for fine dining. Or have a drink under umbrellas at their Afterdeck bar.

From Louie's, you're only a few blocks from Duval, where you'll find what Key West is famous and infamous for: tours, beaches, museums, water sports, shopping, bars, art events, and over two hundred restaurants, many with open-air seating, some right on the water. Be sure to check your phone for sunset times so you don't miss the daily celebration at Mallory Square on the Gulf of Mexico. Here is where locals and visitors alike gather to witness the sun sinking into the horizon and applaud as the last round edge of fiery orange disappears. From Mallory, it's easy to explore Key West's Historic Seaport and Harbor Walk.
