Description

There's no more perfect place to practice the art of tropical vacationing than this professionally decorated, two-story townhome, which features two bedrooms, two and a half baths, a private deck with private hot tub, and a master bedroom balcony. A short walkway flanked by lush gardens leads to a large, temperature-controlled pool and covered gazebo overlooking the world-famous Duval Street. Or if you prefer sand and salt water, the nearest beach is just a few blocks away.

Duval Square is one of the townhouses forming a small rooftop community secluded above quaint shops and excellent restaurants. The street level also offers gated parking and security entrances for the townhouses. Despite its location in the heart of Old Town Key West, Duval Square has an unparalleled air of tranquility, elegance, and exclusivity.

The front door anchor-and-starfish wreath sets the seaside theme for the rest of the residence, one that takes top honors for décor. The front foyer is much more than an entryway. Here you'll find a wall-mounted hook rack, a bench, baskets and cubbies to hold the things you want handy as you enter or exit your home away from home. One pillow on the bench proclaims a quintessential Key West adage: Life is Better in Flip Flops.

The foyer leads to an open floor plan typical of the island's inclination to promote a seamless, contemporary social flow among the heretofore separate functions of cooking, eating, and relaxing. Ocean blue walls unify the space, as do the natural fiber area rugs, travertine floors, and beachcomber art accoutrements.
To the right of the foyer is a fully equipped kitchen with contemporary track lighting above. There's plenty of counter space as well as a snack bar with two cushioned stools. Wall cabinets and below-counter cabinets provide copious storage, making it easy to keep everything you're not using out of your way. A window over the double sink admits plenty of ambient light. Later, as the day turns to evening, you can turn to the track lighting for illumination. This is an ideal kitchen for preparing a four-course meal or for warming leftovers from some fabulous meal you ate the night before in one of the nearly 200 area restaurants and bars. The kitchen area also has a washer/dryer closet and a storage closet.

The track lighting motif repeats in the dining area, where a solid hardwood table, matching sideboard, and cushioned chairs create the perfect spot for casual or formal meals or just a game of cards. A four-light rope chandelier hangs over the table, adding a distinctive nautical touch in daylight or evening mood lighting at night.

The living area centers on a white slip-covered couch that doubles as a pull-out queen sleeper. A matching overstuffed armchair stands nearby. Colorful throw pillows dot the couch and chair, some in nautical stripes and some in coral patterns. The wall above the couch hosts a striking, three-panel octopus painting in black and white. Two large round ottomans nearby can serve as footstools or coffee tables for drinks and books. A flatscreen TV hangs on the opposite wall, perfectly positioned for viewing from the couch and chair, and under it sits a handy door-and-drawer storage cabinet. Of course there's cable, wireless high-speed Internet, and a DVD player. Over the living area, a Casablanca ceiling fan creates cooling air currents. A convenient half guest bath completes the first floor layout.

Although the living area is visually appealing, casual, and very comfortable, your eyes can't help but shift to the glass French doors that lead to the outside deck. Here the theme of ocean blue with black and white accents is masterfully continued in chairs, love seat, and tables. A market umbrella provides shade while white lattice work forms the perimeter, creating a private space that still allows the sea breezes off the Atlantic Ocean to waft through. In the right corner of the deck stands an inviting, two-person hot tub where you could relax with your morning latte or your late-night cocktail.

If you aren't already wishing you could move in permanently, you will feel that way once you see the upstairs. A carpeted staircase leads to the second floor, which has two bedrooms, a queen bed in the guest bedroom, and a king in the master suite. Each has a private en suite full bath. The beds are comfortable, the décor is well-coordinated with the downstairs, and plenty of sunshine comes through the windows. Chests of drawers, nightstands, and large closets provide all the "put away" space you will need for your vacation wardrobe. Through the glass doors in the master bedroom is a fresh air balcony with two chairs and a table. From the left side of it you can see the pool.

When adventure calls, stroll down to the pool, which is heated and exclusively for guests. The pool is spacious and the chaise lounges inviting. Sit under the canopied roof for shade or out in the sun to work on a tan. If others are enjoying the pool at the same time, you can strike up a conversation, share vacation stories, and get tips about great places to go in Key West.

Or maybe it's time to wander down to Duval Street itself, a thoroughfare that has been officially designated a Great Street by the American Planning Association. A left turn will head you toward the Southernmost Café and the shores of the Atlantic. A right turn will send you toward the Gulf of Mexico. In between are all the things that make the Conch Republic so famous: beaches, tours, museums, shopping, food and drink establishments, and the Key West Aquarium where you can pet a shark if you dare. Or maybe you'd prefer to have butterflies land on your shoulder at the Butterfly Conservatory. If the arts interest you, you've come to the right place for music, movies, plays, art galleries, lectures, artists' open studios, and more. Don't miss the sunset celebration at Mallory Square or the opportunities for all kinds of water sports along the Historic Seaport boardwalk.

We have stayed in this location 3 times in the past two years but in different condo's this is one of the best ones..this house was well stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable . We love the location of these condo's being steps away from Duval St and still being quiet at night. When we arrived there was some confusion since it was the first time we rented form Historic Hideaways and Tim was so nice and helpful. Thank you Tim. We would definitely stay here again.

I was able to check in early and check out late with ease which was great. The office was located really close to the condo. I liked the location, it was close to some awesome spots by the water. Did have to walk a bit to get to the other end of Duval street but was still great. The condo itself was so cute and had everything we needed for our stay with lots of space. The only criticism I would give is the keys, a touch pad with a code I think would be much more convenient. Overall great stay!

This was our second stay at Duval Square. This time we brought another couple with us. The location is wonderful. Walking distance to almost everything. Located on the nice end of Duval Street, but it sits back away from the street. The pool is very nice with a large covered area for shade and it was rarely crowded. Our unit had a hot tub and an enclosed patio. The master bedroom is roomy with a comfortable bed. The guest room is small as is the guest bath. We didn't use the pull out sofa. The living area is small and could use another chair but overall it worked out well for the four of us. We had two weeks of lovely weather and definitely plan to come back.

All good.

Very nice location to the area, short walking distance to the town sites. The housing was comfortable and clean. Nice pool space and hot tub. The only thing was the the TV controls were confusing but after googling had it figured out (Maybe instructions). I will tell friends to consider using this great place.

We have stayed at various Duval Square units. This unit has been the BEST! Absolutely spotless, very well equipped. Centrally located to enjoy the Duval Life. Historic Hideaways management was helpful with minor questions. Only negative that is everywhere is the unwanted early alarm clock, aka roosters! We visit Key West a few times a year and THIS is the rental we will continue to attempt to secure.

The property was secure and the location was excellent. We enjoyed the spacious home with 2 bedroom/ 2.5 baths with a hot tub on the patio. We also enjoyed the secured parking lot that we were able to park our golf cart. We will definitely be booking again when we head back to Key West

This property was a great rental . Right off Duval Street but tucked away from the noise. The property will sleep 6 comfortable. It is decorated so cute. The unit was also very clean which we appreciated. We will definitely rent this unit again. Historic Hideaways is a great company to work with. One more thing we love the pool at Duval Square!! Modern House, Walking Distance from Everything Key West Has to Offer

Luxurious two floor town house on the south end of Duval Street located within walking distance of everything Key West has to offer. A fully equipped kitchen with ice maker in the freezer, dining table for six, bathroom and an enclosed outside seating area with hot tub. Two double en-suite bedrooms up-stairs, one having an enclosed balcony and seating area. All very comfortable and stylish. A community pool with loungers and covered seating area that overlooks Duval Street was a bonus just a few steps away. Secure covered parking was also available with easy access via stairway or elevator to the roof top town house community of Duval Square. If a secluded and private location is what you are looking for, then our unit (U6R) in Duval Square, an enclosed and secure street of town houses set along Virginia Street off Duval Street is perfect. Far enough away from the evening hubbub of Duval Street crawlers but close enough to join in with the merriment. If the infamous Key West bars on Duval Street are not your thing and the restaurants appear on the expensive side venture along the side streets leading to Simonton Street and Whitehead Street for more reasonably priced fare that is equally Key West. Charlie Macs BBQ Smokehouse for example along Southard Street next to the Green Parrot Bar was one of our favorites. We found Historic Hideaways professional and efficient, arriving on a Sunday and collecting our house keys from a pre-arranged secure collection point outside their office walking distance from our rental. We needed to check-in the next day to complete our final rental papers. I would recommend Historic Hideaways for holiday rentals and the town house unit where we stayed for three nights.

This is a great location. We have been coming for about 8 years in a row and on and off for 20 years. The hardest part is finding a 2-3 bedroom location this close to Old Town. The unit had more space than we needed. It was clean and seemed to be maintained. Rental was easy.

Duval Square is a great rental with many shops, restaurants, and convenience stores around it. My daughters and I enjoyed a pedicure right downstairs in the plaza where the townhouse is located. There is a CVS right around the corner for pop, beer, water, snacks and grocery items and anything you may have forgotten to pack. The unit itself was spacious enough and stocked well with items needed to cook, etc. The hot tub was a plus- loved it! We had a wonderful family vacation and can't wait to come back!

It was our first visit to the Keys and our stay with Historic Hideaways was the cherry on top. They were a pleasure to work with and the home was so nicely decorated, perfectly clean and organized. This condo was the perfect base camp for our Key West getaway. My girl friends and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was perfectly situated on the quieter end of Duval St., but still within walking distance to everything! Everything was perfectly clean and lovely upon our arrival, and the condo was stocked with everything we ever could've needed, and the private hot tub on our deck was a wonderful addition. I would highly recommend this condo, and will definitely keep in mind for future visits!

(rental agent) was exceptional in helping plan our stay. He was very responsive to every email and/or phone call. It was a pleasure to meet him when we checked in at the office. Our townhome was immaculate! Very clean and had everything we needed and then some. The location at the more quiet end of Duval near the Southernmost Point was perfect for us. Many restaurants and bars were within walking distance, as well as the Southernmost Beach. Very convenient to everything we needed. The big plus for us was having assigned, secure parking. We drove from Maryland and because we had our own vehicle it was very important to us to know we had a parking spot after being out and this property offered that peace of mind. Late check in was so easy and wonderful as well. We have recommended your company to many friends. We will definitely use your company for our future visits to Key West!

Super location on Duval Street not far from the Southernmost Point and within walking distance to great restaurants and entertainment. This condo has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The pool is great and and a nice place to relax a little. There is a free city bus nearby that will take you all over the town including the marina and Mallory Square. If you are looking for a nice getaway this is the place.

Had a great stay at Duval Square. Very convenient to all the activities that Key West has to offer. We walked or took the free bus everywhere we wanted to go . Great restaurants close by and the sunset cruise was spectacular. The unit was spacious and was equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The pool was great and never had a problem getting a chair. If your planning a trip to Key West, this is the place to stay

We loved this rental and love working with Historic Hideaways. This was our second time working with them and they are wonderful. The unit was close to everything being right off Duval, and it wasnt noisy at all except for the roosters cockadoodledoing to each other in the morning, but youre probably going to get that no matter where you stay in Key West. It had everything we could have possibly needed including beach towels, beach chairs, blow dryer, washer, dryer, iron, and blender. The beds were super comfortable and the whole place was decorated so cute. My boys really enjoyed the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this lovely decorated unit. Very comfortable, clean & well maintained. The whole complex was nicely landscaped. We appreciated being on the quieter end of Duval. The location was more than acceptable between beach areas and downtown. Everyone in our group mutually agreed, we will rent this unit again! The 2 bedrooms were great with each having private nice bathrooms. Beds were comfortable, again, every where you looked, nice "beach theme" decor. Really enjoyed the balcony off the master bdrm. The 5th person couldn't make the trip with us, so we don't know how the pull out slept. The 1/2 bath was nice to have, no doubt a 3rd couple would be comfortable staying at unit. The pool area is nice. Not a deep pool as some has already commented, but it is definitely large enough for a enjoyable dip. The only thing we missed, was the ability to "grill out". The gated garage was a bonus. We came by way of the Key West Express, but we rented one of the little electric cars. It was nice not having to worry about finding parking, or paying (more) crazy parking fees. We absolutely loved the private patio & hot tub. We are already looking forward to our next trip back to Key West! Thank you so much for a Great Place!

Excellent service. Pre -vacation, (rental agent) was always available to answer questions. The home that we stayed at was very comfortable and decorated beautifully. The owners even provided umbrellas, which we didn't need! Weather beautiful. We were a 5 minute walk to beach and Duval St was right outside our door. Two excellent restaurants were located below our unit and many more up and down Duval St. Once we parked our car in parking garage we never moved it. Rented bikes directly across street. We had a great vacation. People in Key West could not have been nicer. We will be back!

Everything was great. Really no complaints. Service was good. Nice unit. Furnished well. Great location. Nice parking. Enjoyed roof top pool and lounge area with great view of Duval Street.

This is a very spacious, well equipped rental apartment. The location is excellent, towards the south end of Duval Street, well within walking distance of so many good restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is part of a very nice rooftop community of apartments, both residential and rentals. It has a nice communal pool, perfect for getting some sun and cooling off in a small pool in a chilled out, reasonably private area. The apartment is well furnished, with every amenity that you could reasonably expect. I would definitely recommend a dip in the hot tub as the sun goes down!

Being right on Duval, but having the privacy of a quiet gated community, Duval Square had it all. It had everything we needed and more. The private hot tub on the porch is heavenly. The location is close to great restaurants and rentals for bikes and scooters. The walk to the beach was only a few blocks and the Sunset Pier is only a one mile enjoyable walk away. We'll definitely visit again!

Fully stocked condo with everything you might need. We are a family of five and really enjoyed everything about this place. Love the decor! The location of the condo is perfect; right on Duval St, yet tucked away into a quiet setting behind the businesses and restaurants. Honestly the only thing we didn't have was pantry space for the groceries we bought because the small kitchen had something in every cupboard. Other than that, it was a perfect stay

We would definitely stay here again.

We would definitely stay here again. The location was fantastic. It was right on Duval Street, but set back far enough that noise was never an issue. Walking distance to all the great restaurants and attractions. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun or shade areas. The unit itself was very comfortable. The kitchen was a bit outdated but functional. It had a nice patio area with a great, relaxing hottub which was serviced once a week. This unit would work well for two couples with private bedrooms and baths, although the guest room was much smaller. We did have a couple of maintenance issues, but (rental agent) was very responsive and took care of them as quickly as possible. We were without AC for a couple of nights though. There is a CVS right around the corner and a small grocery store a few blocks away. We had our car, though, so usually we drove to Publix at the other end of town. The only suggestion I would offer is to reduce the amount of decor items in the unit. There are far too many decorative pillows on the bed. It was hard to find places to put them. Overall, we were very pleased, and would recommend it.

The unit we stayed in was beautifully decorated, very clean, with a beach theme. There was 4 girls, plenty of room, met our expectation and then some. Highly recommend staying here. Location is perfect, we walked a lot, by choice. Not close to large beach but we walked, it was quite a walk but certainly if used to walking it is an option or if you have car it is close.

The place was beyond our expectation, absolutely beautiful, would highly recommend and certainly stay there again, location was excellent, close to everything, the pool was clean and seating area around very nice. The only problem we had was day of departure the elevator was out of order, we went to the Historic Hideaways office to check out and asked for help to get our large suitcases down the stairs, as we were a group of 4 women, they said they had no one, as the maintenance staff were at other end of town, but offered help from cleaning staff, when we returned there was a kind gentleman there who was a guest and helped us, a lady arrived from cleaning just as we got the last bag down willing to help us,thankfully we got the most down, she kindly helped the us take last one. So all that to say I would give a 5 star rating because only issue was out of their control and they did best to help out.

Check in was so easy. It was great to deal with a nice and helpful person. The condo was more than we expected. Everything was up dated and in great condition. We were in a central location for all we had planned during our stay. The pool was clean. We are already talking about our next stay.

The condo is very convenient to everything on Key West. The condo is decorated nicely is comfortable. The pool is small but nice. The only thing is the complex needs to be painted on the outside and the gutters cleaned. I will definitely be back.

Great place, decorative Floridian theme, easy late night check-in, wonderful staff. Newly furnished in a perfect location on Duval St, two blocks from the Hemingway house and toward the east end easy walking down Duval to Mallory Square. Will stay here again

The property at Duval Square is in an ideal location right on Duval Street. The spacious two bedroom, two and a half bath condo is well maintained with all the comforts of home. The gated and locked stairwell to access the second floor property gives you a very secure feeling. The gated parking is an added plus since parking in Key West can be difficult. We always drive to Key West so before reaching our rental we stop at the grocery store and buy food for breakfast and lunch. That makes the rental well worth the price saving on two meals out. Dinner is always out and Duval Square has several good restaurants just steps away from the condo. The best part of that is that any dinner left over can be easily taken back up to the condo before a "night on the town." We like to stay in different parts of Old Town, but Duval Square is one of our two favorites because of its convenience and cleanliness.

It was beautiful! It had the same color palette that I use in my own place, had a pair of French doors and a deck off the master bath, which reminded me of the house I lived in almost 20 years ago. Excellent location, a very short walk to our favorite watering hole, La Te Da. The only thing we could have used was a bottle opener. The unit was R6. We're coming back for the last week of 2016 and the first week of 2017! Need I say more?

Great place near the action on Duval, but not too close to the noise. Very comfortable and clean. Deck area off the living room was a nice retreat for happy hour before heading out for the night. Definitely would stay here again!

The service provided by (rental agent) was excellent. The condo unit was it great shape and in a wonderful location. The pool and hot tub were a very nice added bonus. The only thing I would like to have seen was transportation to and from the airport, a few of my friends used different agencies and were not as happy as I but they were provided with free transportation to and from the airport.

we will definitely be back!!

We loved the location right in the middle of Duval Street and the condo was fantastic - there were no major issues and the small issues were addressed immediately and we will definitely be back!!

Love this place. Excellent location, convenient to almost everything. Unit was exceptionally clean, nicely furnished. Reasonable rates. Would stay here again with no hesitation. One suggestion: Have one bedroom with two twin or full beds.

Condo was just as described. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was well stocked and felt like home! Location was perfect, being right on Duval St. Pool area was clean and provided plenty of lounge chairs. Would definitely stay here again.
