If you choose this two-bedroom, two plus bath home for your Key West vacation, you won't be sorry. While Key West has some fourteen neighborhoods, locals identify The Meadows area, your vacation neighborhood, as the most neighborly. Here you'll find houses with a statistically high year-around residency, relatively large lots, tree-lined streets, a tranquil atmosphere, and yet still have easy access to the endless vacation activities available in the Southernmost City.

The inviting porch of The Meadows House fronts Albury Street, named for Richard Henry Albury, a noteworthy real estate mogul from the late 1800s. Imagine yourself sitting here to appreciate the lush tropical garden between the house and Albury Street or just to watch the sky change color as sunset approaches.
Yes, there's private parking; yes, the house has every expected amenity and many extras to boot; yes, the kitchen is perfect for whipping up a meal; yes, the open floor plan gives a sense of airy delight; but best of all from the front door, from the kitchen, from the dining area, from the living area, through a set of glass doors, you can see where you'll undoubtedly spend a good part of your "down time." It's the spacious deck area featuring a private, heated, L-shaped pool. You can swim in the pool, rinse off in the open-air shower, sun or nap on one of the comfy chaise lounges, walk around seeing if you can identify the varied and abundant plant life, barbeque at the grille and eat your culinary masterpiece at the picnic table, and maybe take pictures with your smart phone so you never forget your Meadows House experience.

Back inside, in the living room area, there's plenty of natural light from the glass doors and the many windows. These portals usher the considerable beauty of the deck and pool area into the house and add to the sense of spaciousness. There's also ample seating, interesting art on the walls, an area rug, TV, stereo, and wireless. Library shelves and windows start in the living area and continue on the right wall all the way to the front door. Here and elsewhere, ceiling fans add another tropical touch as they whir above honey-colored Travertine tile floors and natural wicker furniture.

Adjacent to the living space is a metal dining table with six chairs. The white vaulted ceiling above, the open scrollwork of the table, glass tabletop, and the open slats of the chairs continue the theme of light and spaciousness. A dark wood hutch completes this area.

Next is the well-designed and perfectly kept kitchen with copious cupboard space above and every appliance nicely tucked in below. One whole wall isn't a wall at all, but instead a generous counter and pass-through. On the dining side are three stools in case you want to eat there or maybe you prefer to pass dishes through to the dining area.

Two bedrooms complete this perfect residence. The Meadows House master suite offers a King bed, fascinating art work on the walls, side tables with lamps, a generous closet, a full bath, and glass doors that open onto the deck. The second bedroom offers two twin beds, a generous closet, and yet another full bath. In case you need more sleeping space, don't forget the sleep sofa in the living area.

After you've explored the house and are ready to explore the island, you'll find yourself right at the intersection of two convenient corridors. The first is White Street which runs the fourteen-block width of the island from the Gulf of Mexico to a fishing pier jutting out into the wide Atlantic Ocean. On White you'll find art galleries, Faustos grocery store, convenience stores, the Island Gym, and yoga studios, to name a few places. The second corridor is Truman Street which takes you the seven blocks to Duval St, the central artery of entertainment. There you'll find what Key West is famous and infamous for: tours, beaches, museums, water sports, shopping, bars, and over two hundred restaurants, many with open-air seating, some right on the water.

To know what's going on from day to day, check out Historic Hideaways' informative Events page on our website. Other information on the current music scene, movies, plays, gallery openings, and charitable events include milezerokeywest.com and Paradise, which comes out every Thursday.

Free Delivery & set up (over $75) of Beer / Wine / Liquor is available from Kwest Liquors, 705 Duval St. Historic Hideaways Guests receive a discount on pricing. Order in advance and have your Vacation Home fully stocked upon arrival! Contact our office in advance for details.

"Private house away from hustle and noise"

3 of 5

This was a nice house with lots of convenience. The swimming pool is not so great and the water is freezing so you really cannot enjoy the pool at all. The back deck is very private. The picnic table is a little rough but everything else is nice.

"Paradise Home in Key West"

5 of 5

We stayed in the Meadows house in June and loved everything about the location, the house, the pool and yard and the BBQ. The house has so much personality, the rooms are spacious, each has its own bathroom, the yard was we=here we spent most of our time. We used the BBQ everyday, and when we ran out of gas, a staff member came by the house to refill the tank! Amazing. The pool was unique and perfect for those hot FL days. The location was also near all of the main attraction but still quiet.

"Mixed Bag"

3 of 5

The Meadows House is a very cute bungalow in a pretty good location in Key West, but all the furnishings look like they came from a local garage sale, and the cleaning requirements at the end of our stay bordered on being silly, especially considering we were charged a $200+ cleaning fee. Also, the bed in the second bedroom was very hard and uncomfortable. The pool was nice.

"this was the best"

Wonderful house, great location, fabulous pool, Everything was there when we needed it. Close to everything we wanted, and quiet. Would love to do it again next year.

"Paradise in Paradise"

5 of 5

Stayed in July 2014 for about a week. Our next vacation to Key West will be in this rental, if that tells you how much we liked it. The pool is fantastic and the house was well maintained and everything worked as it should. The people who checked us in and out made arrangements for a Sunday morning check in when their office is usually closed (I only had to come in Monday morning to sign a paper) and checking out consisted of dropping the keys in a drop box.If in Key west in July I recommend the "Fury Water Adventures" morning snorkel trip (back to land before it starts to get hot). We are from Oklahoma and found the variety of reef fish and coral just amazing. For the best beach go here: 24.546930, -81.788069Free to swim and sun, unlike others that charge you access. Umbrella and two lounge chairs 20$ (best price in KW)As close to white sand as your gonna get in the rocky shores of KW. No getting away from the seaweed though (its there on every beech) and if you don't live near the ocean, like us okies when the tide goes out there is a faint seaweed smell (at every beach), but we stopped smelling it after about the 2nd day.

"Key West At Its Very Finest!"

5 of 5

If a house and rental company can embody the spirit and flavor of Key West, The Meadows House and Historic Hideaways hit the mark in every way. The pictures of the house and pool simply don't do the property justice - It is very spacious and incredibly well maintained. We will definitely be back (hopefully sooner than later)!

"The Meadows Home- wow !!!"

5 of 5

Tim,Thank you so much for your help in booking The Meadows Home. I have to say when I was booking the home, I was a little afraid of the pictures I saw on line. The pictures do not do justice to show the beauty of the home and the pool... Wow!!!My in-laws went back home to Poland toady they couldn't stop talking about what a great time they had in Key West and what a wonderful time we had in the house, swimming and drink by the pool. I really hope my family and I can return and visit the home again.Best Wishes,The Zatek Family

"Oustanding Vacation Home!"

5 of 5

We stayed at the Meadows House this past December, and had an amazing time. The location was excellent, and the house was immaculate! It was a surprise trip for my husbands 50th birthday, and on day two he asked if we could buy the house. Very private, off the beaten path but right by everything that we needed. Didn't want to leave, and we loved your little piece of paradise.

"The Meadows House is a great vacation getaway"

Excellent service was provided by Bill and Tim at the Historic Hideways office on Duval St. The house was perfect, the pool enchanting and it was close to Duvall and all of the tourist attractions. Really enjoyed the privacy that the house provided.

"Awesome Vacation"

5 of 5

We brought my daughter and 3 girlfriends to Key West for a celebration of their High School graduation. The girls had the best vacation of their lives. The beach and Duval Street were only a short bikeride away and yet the house is in a very quiet neighborhood with a hidden treasure in the back. The pool and patio area were a wonderful oasis. My husband and I come to Key West 4-5 times per year and love staying at the Meadows house. I would recommend this place to anyone.

"Amazing stay"

5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in The Meadows House and Key West. The pool really made it and was great fun for my 3 year old. The house is quirky and in a lovely neighbourhood. There's lots to see and do in Key West and the local restaurants serve up great dishes. It's not inexpensive but I would recommend a stay here if you would like the ease of having your own house with a pool to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

"I want to go back!!"

5 of 5

We stayed at The Meadows House for our honeymoon from Dec. 10- Dec. 16. It was a fantastic place to stay! We loved the house and all it's whimsical decor. We loved all of the books. And loved the master bath and shower. We spent most of our time outside by the pool and on the deck. The landscaping outside was beautiful and we even had a visit from a chicken up close & personal! We did cook one night and took advantage of the brand new gas grill. The kitchen had everything we needed To make a meal. We also found a local restaurant (Vito's) that was within walking distance that we loved. The location was perfect. We rented bikes and rode them around every night. On night we found the oldest DQ I have ever seen. All in all I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
